I have worked on brainstorming (envision) for my narrative art project. I have looked at pictures of stained glass windows and used the Book of Ruth as ideas so far.

The artwork is a collage of pieces of paper painted in many different colors, with a paper scroll in the middle with symbol on it. I made it by painting a sheet of paper, cutting it, and using Mod Podge to put the pieces on a black sheet of paper. I then glued the scroll on, drew the symbols with permanent marker, and painted over them. The idea behind my artwork is that of fantasy-based secrets and long-forgotten myths rediscovered. My goals were to make an artwork with fantasy ideas in it. I like the artwork, but the idea changed a lot from what I planned from the start.
I have finished my secrets project and my clay project.
Envision: I changed plans for my secrets project when I thought of new ideas. Stretch & Explore: In changing my idea for my secrets projects I changed the media. I don't think I've used Mod Podge. I used the paint the paint brush as a tool to fill in cracks on my clay project. I have finished my cityscape painting and have worked on secrets ideas. I also had fun creating unique objects during the task party.
Stretch and Explore: I worked with many unique materials during the task party to create really cool stuff. Express: I am expressing my ideas through work on my Secrets project. The artwork is a painting of the city of Singapore, showing many skyscrapers and lights. The waterline is visible, deep blue with many reflected colors near the skyscrapers. I created the artwork with acrylic paint, using a reference picture for help. The meaning of my artwork is to show appreciation of cities and the beauty of the many people who live there. My goal was to paint a city skyline. I like this artwork and I found painting it fun.
My landscape painting helped me grow as an artist by giving me a chance to develop craft by learning more about painting techniques, such as blending colors, and observing the buildings closely to make them more detailed in shape.
Envision: I looked for different pictures of the skyline of the city to find one that I liked.
Develop Craft: I practiced different brush strokes and techniques. Engage & Persist: I had to erase and retry drawing my lines multiple times to get them right.
Stretch & Explore: Working on this artwork helped me learn the importance of connecting lines to each other and making some lines parallel to each other. I think these basic skills will help in future artworks. The artwork is a pencil drawing of one fridge upright, with another fridge on its side on the ground to the left. I drew the artwork with drawing pencils of varying hardness/softness levels. The idea of my artwork is that broken objects can still have use, especially for parts. My goals were to create the artwork to look three-dimensional. I like this artwork, but I wanted it to have more detail.
I've been working on many different forms of drawing in drawing boot camp, such as gesture drawings, geometric still lifes with shading, and contour sketches. I have also worked on the different studio habits, learned about other artists, and reflected on artworks.
